What is Travel Soccer?

Travel soccer provides your child the chance to play the game they love at a higher level of competition. PUSA provides specialized training and expert coaching

How does my child join a PUSA Travel team?

Travel Try-outs are held before the beginning of the Fall season. Your child must attend one of the two try-out sessions in order to qualify for a team. Your child will be assessed by the coaching staff as well as outside assessors. Try-out dates will be posted on the Travel homepage on this web-site.

How long is the PUSA Travel season?

The travel season runs during the fall and spring season, consisting of both league and tournament play. Most teams play one to two indoor sessions over the winter months.  

How often does a PUSA Travel team practice?

Typically, each travel team will practice two times a week, depending on the schedule and team needs.

When are PUSA Travel games played?

Games are scheduled for weekends, either Saturday or Sunday. Occassionally, a team could be asked to play both days in one weekend.

How far will we travel for games/tournaments?

PUSA travel teams play in the CPYSL, York USA, or Lanco leagues. These leagues are home to teams from York/Lancaster and  surrounding counties.

What are the costs to play PUSA Travel soccer?

The current cost for registration is $90 per player per year which includes the annual registration, league fees and team training.  Uniforms, tournaments and incidentals are the responsibility of each team.

Do I have to participate in team fundraising?

Fundraising is up to the individual team. Fundraising can help offset some of the incurred costs over the travel season.

How much pressure is involved with PUSA Travel?

While the level of play is higher in the travel division, the PUSA coaching staff strives to make this a fun and educational experience for both the athletes and their parents. 

How does PUSA select the coaching staff?

PUSA reviews all coaching applications and takes into consideration the experience of the applicants, as well as what level license the individual currently holds.

How do I know if my child is "good enough" to play PUSA Travel soccer?

Bring your child to the PUSA try-outs. You can contact any qualified member by going to the "Contacts" page and selecting the Vice Presdent of Travel. We are here to help!!!

Do all PUSA Travel teams play tournaments?

many teams play both tournaments as well as league play over the course of a full season. The number of tournaments are based on the goals of each individual team.
